Sometimes – as women it's hard to figure out what makes us happy, right? Sometimes it's as easy as a night out with friends or a good pamper session at your nearest Dream Nails Beauty. But sometimes happiness needs to be created, and daunting as it sounds, creating your own happiness is actually pretty easy to do. Follow these easy steps and find the Keys to Happiness:

1.      Free your heart from hatred

Happiness is an inside job – by relying on others to make you happy you assign them way too much power over your life. Be as kind to yourself as you are to others. See your mistakes as opportunities to learn. Notice things you do well, however small. Spend some quiet time by yourself. Tune in to how you're feeling inside and try to be at peace with who you are.

2.     Free your mind from worries

Life is simply too short to sweat the small things. There will always be haters, there will always be negative energy trying to bring you down and there will always be reason to worry – but all worrying does is make you stress eat and get wrinkles. Let go and know that true happiness is realising that although your posterior may look fat in your jeans, you are not the one who has to look at it.

3.     Live simply

The simple sentence Less is More sums this key up. Living simply is removing all the glut and rubble from your life, making space in your house, your heart, your brain and your life for exactly and only what you need. Less stuff, obligations, expectations means less to worry about.

4.    Give more

Everyone is frantically looking for happiness all around, not knowing where it is. What so many of us often forget is that our happiness lies in the happiness of other people. If you help others find their happiness you will find your own.

5.     Expect less

Cinderella is proof that a new pair of shoes can change your life, but it’s often the expectation of this simple sentence that is a guaranteed pitfall. The ‘ebb and flow’ of mental happiness - the way our mood shifts moment-to-moment - is profoundly impacted by our expectations of life. Lower your expectations and you could end up pleasantly surprised.

The key to happiness and fulfilment in life doesn't come by achieving more but rather by letting go.  Let go of hate, worry, excess, selfishness and expectations and let happiness in.
