Summer is a pretty high-maintenance season.
With all the sweet perks (beachvacations, breezy sundresses, longer evenings) come some not-so-nice beauty challenges: Hair colour starts to fade, foundation builds up, sunscreen and sweat cause breakouts—and don't even get us started on frizz.
Luckily, we've got simple summer hacks to help your beauty routine stay flawless:
Moisturise. You may think that because winter is over, so is the dry skin and you can skip that part of your routine, but no! With the extreme heats in summer, your body dehydrates and makes your skin dry. You need to butter it up as well as stay hydrated to make up for the moisture loss.
Use protective hair masks. Summer can also cause damage to your hair by drying it out as well as damage from increased shampooing, so use a hair mask from time to time to limit the damage.
If you're looking for an easy way to touch up cakey makeup, use a good hydrating spray. Your makeup can get really baked on when it’s hot out, so you can get more of a dewy look if you incorporate a hydrating spray.
Don’t let a skin emergency send you back inside, missing out on summer fun. Using a light SPF Moisturizer as well as keeping your face clean by washing it twice a day will help to prevent the pimples from happening—so that you can go makeup-free and show off your glow rather than hide indoors (or under layer upon layer of foundation).
